Maureen: Do you know what the problem with this cookbook is? The quantities are too small. If this were an American book, they would have a yield of at least two dozen cupcakes. That makes sense. If you’re going to make it, you might as well get a decent batch out of it. Then you can eat some and have plenty leftover to give to friends, have the next day, whatever.
Leceia: Do I really need to remind you of the obesity problem in the U.S.? Do you think their cookbooks have anything to do with that?

Tom: So, what did we all think of the cupcakes?
Jenny: They were so lovely after all those hot-cross buns. I’ve been living on hot-cross buns for two days.
Kirstin: So Miles has been asking me why it is called Good Friday?
Jenny: It’s really Bad Friday. It’s really bad and sad. It’s the saddest day of the year.
Kirstin: Was Jesus precipitating his trip to the cross? Did he know what he was doing when he went to The Temple?
Jenny: Of course he did.
Kirstin: I thought these cupcakes were moister than Nigella’s recipe. And I downloaded the app to learn to do the frosting (thank you Kathryn for the tip!). But I couldn’t do her swirl. I watched it five or six times, and I tried, but the swirl was not happening.
Tom: Her icing was stiffer. I think you need stiffer icing to do the swirl.

Tom: So, what did you all think of the curry? Those were clean plates!
Kate: Completely mopped up. Yup. We were demanding more sauce. You need to triple the quantity of that sauce.
Liam: It doesn’t need rice. The naan bread was great.
Mick: I preferred eating the curry with the bread, rather than using weapons.
Kate: It had a gentle but intense heat that crept up on you. It didn’t overwhelm you, but left you wanting more!
Liam: I second that.
Kate: You just want another hit.

Anna: I’m so excited about these cupcakes!
Kirstin: I know! You’ve been going on about them for days. Ordering fancy pastes and glitters, debating whether to use the Kitchen Aid or food processor….
Anna: SO excited! I really hope they turn out better than our last few baking recipes from “Kitchen”. I don’t think I can cope if they turn out to be a disappointment. Not after all this anticipation!
