Cookbook of the Month, November 2015, Simply Nigella: Feel Good Food

Maureen: NIGELLA!!!!!!!

Kirstin: So exciting.

Maureen: The thing I like about her is she takes her time with her cookbooks, and it shows. Unlike Jamie, who feels compelled to crank out one cookbook a year, there’s a few years between Nigella’s cookbooks, and it shows.

Kirstin: The introductions to each of the recipes which are always worth reading. And there’s no calorie count. Yes!

Maureen: It’s healthy, but it’s not joyless and it’s not complicated. It’s hitting the sweet spot. Hopefully.

Kirstin: Yes.

Maureen: There’s twice as many recipes as in a typical cookbook too. There’s so much to choose from and they all look good.

Kirstin: I’ve enjoyed all the interviews she’s done for this book. She’s such a lovely woman.

Maureen: I think it’s fair to say that we’re all looking forward to our month with Nigella.

  1. I love her cookbooks, for all the reasons you mention above. I’m looking forward to reading your verdict on this new one. I was looking at it on the shelf at the book store the other day and wondering if it would be a good addition to my Christmas wish list.

  2. Kat says:

I bought the cookbook last weekend, already made a few things- make the cocoa nib banana bread, it is delicious. I’ve made it three times(we have a lot of bananas on special at the moment in Australia!) and everyone in the family loves it.Looking forward to your reviews!
