“Salmon marinated in soy sauce, coriander and fennel” from Recipes from my Mother for my Daughter

Miles: Is this piranha? Gah! There’s a piranha on my plate!

Tom: No, Miles. This is Great White Shark.

Miles: Is it really?

Tom: No. It’s salmon. It’s pink. What do you think of it?

Miles: It is nice, but it’s also not nice mixed together. Combined. Both together.

Kirstin: This is the first recipe from our new cookbook.

Tom: Yum. The fennel is so well integrated with the fish! The caramelised fennel is good, too.

Kirstin: Mmm. I haven’t had salmon for so long. The fennel goes really well.

Miles: I don’t like the smell!

Tom: That smell is the fennel, which we have, and you don’t. Eat the fish! There is no kryptonite anywhere in this recipe, Supermiles.

Miles: Yes there is! Man, I wished we lived in New York.

Tom: Why?

Miles: Because it’s Gotham City!

Tom: True. But it’s full of super villains. Now, eat some more fish!

Miles: OK.

Kirstin: Good boy, Miles! It is yummy?

Miles: Uh-huh.

Kirstin: Good!

Miles: Mum, who made up numbers? Who made up metal? Who made up everything?
